About Us... History of Blue Ridge Court Reporting, Inc. It was started in 1983 by Debbie Wilson, who had served for four years previous to that as Law Clerk and Court Reporter for Circuit Court Judge Dale W. LaRue. Debbie graduated from Wake Forest University with a bachelor's degree in history and then began her court reporting training. Norma Carr and Diane Wilson joined the firm in 1984 and 1985 respectively and Elizabeth Williams joined the firm in 1991. We serve mainly the 27th Judicial Circuit in Virginia and Alleghany, Surry, Stokes, and Forsyth Counties in North Carolina. Experience We have extensive criminal law reporting experience, having been the only court reporting firm in Virginia to have reported 15 capital murder cases and approximately 75 first and second degree murder cases. We have reported two of the cases in Virginia where DNA evidence was the only evidence linking the Defendant to the crime. We are close to Virginia Tech and Wake Forest University and have deposed many of their consulting professors in such areas as environmental studies (i.e. sick building syndrome), human factors, future lost wage calculations, airline crash investigations, furnace explosions and EPA concerns. We have dealt extensively with union arbitration and munitions manufacturing. We report any kind of medical deposition in personal injury cases and have also reported medical depositions in disability claims hearings. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
