Election 2000 - Expressing your Choice!

Lawchek® has reviewed resources on the Web and updated our State Election Office links.  All states now have Election Web Pages.  Most of these offer election contact information, voter registration forms (or applications for forms to be mailed) and election results online.  However, a few Web Pages do not offer all of these.  Twelve states do not offer voter registration forms or a request for a form to be sent online (Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Wisconsin, Wyoming).

Lawchek® has provided links for each participating state that allows a person to obtain a National Mail Voter Registration Form.  This form allows a person to register to vote from anywhere in the United States.  At the present time, New Hampshire will accept the NMVR form only as a request for town and city mail-in absentee voter registration forms; North Dakota does not have a voter registration; Wisconsin town, village and city clerks will only accept the NMVR form as a application for their form to be sent via mail; and Wyoming by State law, cannot accept the NMVR form.

The following States will accept the National Mail Voter Registration Form printed from your computer: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The remainder States which do not accept the National Mail Voter Registration Form may have their own forms available online or requested online.  The needed information is listed in the States Information section and the Voter Registration Section.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT EVERY STATE HAS ITS OWN DEADLINES FOR VOTER APPLICATIONS.  MAKE SURE TO ADJUST FOR THEIR TIMELINES ACCORDINGLY.  These dates may also be found on the State Election Home Pages.
