Having Presence Online IS Good for Businesses! |
|
Benefits
of Being Online There are many benefits for businesses being online. We have created a short list of them here. Being online allows a business to reach a larger and more diverse audience. There are no limitations to where the advertisement may be seen. Thus a journal which only has a certain number of subscribers or a phone book for a specific region are no longer limiting the consumers search for services. When confronted with a need or problem, many use the Internet to find information and then acquire the services they need. This user is a captivated audience. They are not merely seeing a business card on the bulletin board or an ad in the newspaper. A business may make their web page valuable to these users by informing users of what services they offer and placing links to informative sites. Providing Information The more information on the web site, the more a user will remember it as resourceful. This can lead to further visits by the user. Once their search is narrowed this may lead to a call for the services offered. A web page is an easy way to tell potential clients about your business. It allows for a business to encourage potential clients by disclosing extended experience in the field, publications, affiliations and memberships, and any other areas that illustrate a business’ capabilities. If any products are offered, a business may answer any questions about the product’s ability and potential. In short, the web page may be used as a subtle advertisement where users may feel free to explore the benefits of using your services without feeling any pressure. Another way of providing users with more information about your field is to have your site placed on, or linking to, a number of sites that specialize in providing a one-stop information resource. These resource sites can be everything from search engines to professional websites. |
When working with other professionals, a web page allows peers to see services and experience as well. Peers will appreciate concise information that answers any questions concerning the services they may need to acquire. Not to mention this can also lead to general communication and sharing of ideas via e-mail. Examples:
A phone call may be missed, message displaced or set aside because of restricted office hours. However, an e-mail listed on a web page can give potential clients the ability to contact a business anytime, day or night. Once a correspondence is in motion, e-mail allows for easier and faster communication. This also gives clients a closer connection with the business. They do not worry about their phone messages being lost and feel more at ease when they are discussing issues directly with those they hire. Finally, if you do any research and publishing, a web page is a good resource. After placing a document online, your research may add to the information users find at your site. It is also a good method if you publish in various periodicals and magazines. A discussion may be set up on your document’s page for input from other peers before it is sent to a publisher. In essence you can obtain comments and criticism from other professionals online. |
